Stopping smoking is the single most helpful
thing you can do to improve your health and the health of
the people around you.
Smoking
causes serious health problems including lung cancer and
heart disease. It also puts the people around you at risk
from passive smoking particularly babies and young children.
All over the country people like you want to stop smoking. Evidence shows
that you are far more likely to stop smoking for good if you get the
right support and that support is available free of charge
through the NHS. Make the break and go smokefree - we will help
you every step of the way.
Support is
available in North Yorkshire and York through North Yorkshire
Stop Smoking Service (specialist group and one-to-one clinics –
just phone 0300 303 1603 to find out more and book your place),
GP practice Registered Smoking Advisors (the majority of
surgeries offer this service) or through pharmacies offering an
NHS stop smoking service (go to link above to find out which
pharmacies offer stop smoking support in North Yorkshire and

give you help that is tailored to your needs.

give you lectures or tell you over-the-top scare stories. You’ll
just get practical help from people who understand what you are
going through.
