  • Dementia awareness sessions for carers.

  • Epilepsy awareness and management sessions for carers.

  • Health Action Plans are offered to all adults with learning disabilities, including information on how to stay healthy and who will help.

  • Learning Disabilities/Mental Health Action Group.  Meetings held every 2 weeks and attended by people with dual diagnosis.

  • Drop-in sessions for adults with learning disabilities who require relationships advice

An award winning Keeping Safe pack has been devised and this is in use for all adults with Learning Disabilities.

Person Centred Reviews are standard for all students from Year 9 upwards in 1 out of the 2 Special Schools in the locality, and Health Action Plans are offered to all students about to leave school.

We will shortly be appointing a Symbolic Language Advisor, initially for one year.   The Advisor will look at how to make all information more accessible for people with communication difficulties across the Hambleton and Richmondshire locality, and look at the feasibility of long term funding from all providers who require this service.
