www.yorsexualhealth.org.ukThe YorSexualHealth website has now launched, providing lots of information on sexual health and the specialist free and confidential sexual health services provided across North Yorkshire and York.  Information is available on STIs, contraception, including emergency contraception, Chlamydia screening, HIV testing, where to get tested and contact details, opening times of family planning clinics.  Check the website at www.yorsexualhealth.org.uk.

To request a testing kit please visit www.yorsexualhealth.org.uk  The website also links to other popular internet sites such as Facebook.

A texting service is now available for young people to request a postal testing kit. Text ‘TEST’ to 80010 followed by name, address and age.

Yorscreen has recruited a Project Support Officer who will lead a team of peer educators. Their role will be to increase screening availability and uptake in non-healthcare settings. Young people’s focus groups have been established to help make sexual health services more young people focused and the peer educators will be going into pubs, clubs and education settings to screen.

New sexual health drop-ins will be starting in Selby, York University and Sherburn in Elmet, where young people in these areas can get screened more easily.

Mail shots: sending of a letter and testing kit to young people aged 18-24 in two GP practices to offer the opportunity to test. If this pilot is successful, the project will expand throughout the region.
