Scarborough Borough Home Drinking CampaignScarborough Borough Home Drinking Campaign

Local partners including NHS North Yorkshire and York, The Borough Council and the Cambridge Centre have worked together to develop a media campaign that highlights the problem of home drinking.  The campaign links to messages within national campaigns but uses quotes from local people and is specific to the Borough of Scarborough (Scarborough, Whitby and Filey).

The campaign is intended to:

  • raise awareness about the risks and problems associated with home drinking, on the individual and on those around them.

  • provide clear signposting information to local services.

3 target groups have been identified and there are different images/materials for these groups:

a)   Parents (highlights the effect on their children)
b)   Younger people drinking before they go out (preloading)
c)   Female, older "at home" drinkers

To obtain copies of the campaign resources please contact Jo Ireland, Community Partnerships Manager on telephone 01723 384315 or email jo.ireland@scarborough.gov.uk.
