Referral data demonstrates that Harrogate practices are significantly above the North Yorkshire and York average rate for GP referrals into Trauma and Orthopaedics, with a significant amount of variation between practices.
The data also demonstrates that NHS North Yorkshire and York are significant outliers in elective admissions rates for arthroplasty across the wider SHA Yorkshire and Humber region.
The redesign work needed to reduce the variation clearly evidenced by the data by standardising the point at which patients are referred from primary care to secondary care.
