Privacy Policy

This page explains how we use any information you give to us, and the way we protect your privacy. Protecting the privacy and personal data of the visitors to our site is of the utmost importance to us.

The Data Protection Act

In accordance with the Data Protection Act, we have a legal duty to protect any information we collect from you.  We will only use your information for the purpose as described and we do not pass on your details to any other government department or third party unless you have given us permission to do so.  You have a right to access your personal data and rectify any inaccuracies.

If you provide feedback on our web site we will only use it to develop and improve the site.  We will keep the actual feedback for six months after which it will be deleted but analysis of feedback may be kept.

We use cookies only for the purpose of monitoring site usage with Google Analytics. Google Analytics anonymously track activity on our site which allows us to monitor usage and trends. This information is then used to keep the site relevant and to enhance navigation. The data gathered does not contain any personal information. Glossary of terms

Log file - These are files created by a web or proxy server which contains all of the access information regarding the activity on that server.

Browser - Used to locate and display Web pages via a software application. The most popular ones are Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer.

Cookie - Message given to a web browser by a web server. The message is then stored by the browser in a text file called cookie.txt. Each time the browser requests a page from the server, this message is sent back. A cookie's main objective is to identify users and personalise their visit by customising web pages for them for example by welcoming them by name next time they visit the same site. A site using cookies will usually invite you to provide personal information such as your name, e-mail address and interests.

IP (Internet Protocol) - All networks connected to the internet speak IP, the technical standard which allows data to be transmitted between two devices.

TCP/IP (Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol) - This is responsible for making sure messages get from one host to another and that the messages are understood.

IP Address - If you are connected to the Internet you have one, for example it may look something like this 100.101.102.103.

Web Server - Delivers (serves up) web pages to your computer.
