About Us

NHS Constitution

NHS ConstitutionThe NHS Constitution, published in January 2009, brings together in one place what the NHS does, what it stands for and the commitments it should live up to.

It describes and renews our commitment to the values and enduring principles of the NHS.  It is also a living document that needs to reflect what matters and is relevant to the needs of patients, the public and staff in the 21st century.

Your Views

Now the NHS is asking for your views in a consultation about new patient rights that may be added to the NHS Constitution. NHS North Yorkshire and York have sought local local views to feed into the national consultation - which closed on the the 7 January 2010. A summary of the responses can be found here.

However, you can still submit your views directly to the Department of Health until 5 February 2010.

To complete the online survey please click here.
